Ariel Martinez hit his third home run of the season his only hit in 4 at-bats on the night. The slugger also drove in two runs to power the Nippon Ham Fighters to win 6-3 over the SoftBank Falcons at the Fukuoka Pay Pay Dome.

Although he didn’t factor in the decision in Rakuten’s 4-3 loss to Wei Chaun. The righty hurled 5 ⅓ innings where he gave up two earned runs via three hits and struck out two. His ERA ascended to 2.95 on the season and he still sports a sterling 1.09 WHIP.
