Yadiel Hernández gets off the schneid in Monterrey’s victory (+Mexican League Report)

Yadiel Hernández had his best game during his short time with the Sultanes de Monterrey. The Cuban outfielder banged out three hits in four trips to the plate and went yard for the first time in the LMB. The slugger from Matanzas, Cuba also knocked in two runs and looks like he starting find his stride with the lumber after a slow start.

Peter O’Brien went 4-for-4 on the evening driving in three runs via a bases loaded walk and a homer. The Cuban-American also scored three times to lead Puebla to a 10-4 rout of Veracruz. The outfielder saw his jump to .333 on the campaign and he also sports a sterling 1.118 OPS.

Although he did not factor in the decision Carlos Juan Viera hurled six peculiar innings where he only gave up a run on three hits, but he uncharacteristically walked five. He also retired six via the strikeout in Tabasco’s 2-1 loss to Yucatán and saw his ERA fall to a sparkling 2.25 on the season.
