Miguel Vargas went yard for the second day in a row and for the fourth time on the season in the Dodgers’ 8-1 win over the Brewers. The young second baseman from Havana who also knocked in two runs on the day has now driven 19 runs on the campaign.

Andy Ibáñez is red-hot with the bat. In last night’s game the infielder swatted two hits, one of them being a run scoring double in the top of the first inning and scored a run to aid the cause in Detroit’s 5-0 shutout of Cleveland. Ibáñez saw his average rise .314 on the season and is now hitting .381 in his last seven games.

Yennier Canó pitched a scoreless ninth inning to notch his third save of the season. Baltimore edged Tampa Bay 2-1 and the flamethrowing righty has now started the season hurling 18.2 scorless innings and now fanned 22 batters over that span.
