After a slow start Adeiny Hechavarria is really heating with the bat. The shortstop from Santiago de Cuba hit a three-run blast in the top of ninth inning to seal Long Island’s 13-9 rout of York in the Atlantic League.
For Hechavarria it was his fourth longball on the season to go along with 16 runs batted in and his average jumped to .326 on the season.
JC Escarra swatted three hits in four trips to the plate and knocked in four runs to lead Gastonia in there 10-0 blanking of Frederick. The slugging catcher is hitting a robust and has 10 RBIs on the campaign.
