Luis Robert hit a key two-run, two-strike and two out double in the top of the eighth inning off his countrymen Aroldis Chapman to tie tonight’s game at three between the Whitesox and Royals. For the outfielder from Ciego de Avila, Cuba it was his his 22nd and 23rd RBIs of the season.
The talented Robert now has 10 doubles on the campaign and is hitting a robust .435 in his las seven games. The Royals scored a run in the bottom of the ninth to walk it off against the pale holes.
Although it was his only hit of the evening in five at-bats, Yandy Díaz still managed to drive in a run with that double in the bottom of the fifth inning to aid the Rays in their 8-2 win over the Yankees. The infielder saw his average drop to .313, but augmented his number of runs batted in to 20 on the season.
