Yóan López returns to the big leagues in NPB. (+Asian League Report)

Fresh off a recall from the minors Yoan López allowed one run and one hit in one-third of inning of relief in the Yomiuri Giants’ 9-4 loss to the Hiroshima Carpas at Tokyo Dome. His ERA rose to 7.71.

Liván Moinelo struck out one of the three batters he faced in a perfect inning of relief to improve his ERA to 0.90 in the SoftBank Hawks’ 4-3 win over the Orix Buffaloes at Osaka’s Kyocera Dome. The left-hander from Pinar del Río, Cuba also sports a 0.78 WHIP.

In the minors Dayán Viciedo returned to Chunichi’s lineup with three hits, but the Dragons lost to the Hiroshima Carp 3-1. His average jumped to .378 on the season. Righty Frank Abel Álvarez after giving up two runs via two hits in two-thirds of an inning of work took the loss on the day. His ERA rose to 9.00 on the season.
