Alex Rivero collected two hits in five at-bats and drove in two runs to aid the cause in York’s 8-6 victory over Long Island in the Atlantic League. The infielder watched his average jump to .375 on the season.
Jorge Martínez notched his second victory even though he gave up five earned runs in six innings and struck out. The righty from Matanzas, Cuba’s ERA is now 4.24 on the campaign.
Although the New Jersey Jackals were routed by the New York Boulders 12-7. Alex Toral went yard for the first time in his Frontier League career. The Cuban-American slugger also drove in a run and scored on another occasion. Toral opened the season hitting .333.
