Guillermo Heredia knocks in a run in SSG’s win. (+Asian League Report)

Guillermo Heredia laced a run scoring double in the sixth inning to do his part in SSG win over Hanwha 8-5. The outfielder who had been out a few days with undisclosed ailment is finding his path in just his second game back as a regular.

Heredia who leads all foreign players with a .354 average is also third in the KBO with 27 runs batted in on the campaign. The slugging Cuban has been in the opinion of many the best foreign signing this offseason.

Ariel Martinez collected a hit in three trips to the plate, scored a run and walked in the Nippon Ham Fighters’ 5-0 blanking of the Chiba Lotte Marines at Es Con Field in Hokkaido.

The native of Matanzas, Cuba has now laced a hit in eight of his last nine games. His average rose to .270 on the campaign and he also augmented his total of runs scored to 6 on the season. Martínez who has caught fire with the lumber in the last week is starting to resemble the hitter that the ball club from the land of the rising sun envisioned when they signed him in the offseason.
