Adolis García goes yard twice, but Texas falls to Atlanta (+Cuban MLB Report)

Adolis García went yard twice, knocked in two runs and scored twice, but his best efforts could not stave off a Ranger defeat to Atlanta by a 6-5 count. The slugging outfielder now leads MLB with 46 runs batted in and is third in the league with 13 longballs.

For Atlanta Raisel Iglesias pitched a scoreless ninth notching his second save on the campaign and watched his ERA descend to 8.31. After a rough start the righty from Havana looks like he starting to find his way on the mound.

Nolan Arenado drove in his 1,000th run in the big leagues via a first inning single to do his part in St. Louis’ blanking of the Milwaukee. Arenado who has driven in 14 runs in his last seven games is swinging a hot lumber and also hitting .414 over that same span.

Yennier Canó continues to baffle hitters with his electric repertoire. Last night the flamethrowing righty pitched a scoreless eighth inning where he struck out two of the three batters he faced in Baltimore’s 3-1 win over the Angels. Canó secured his eighth hold of the season and has now started the season tossing 21⅔ scoreless innings.
