Daniel Pérez drives in his first run a professional in Sioux City’s win. (+Independent League Report)

Daniel Pérez drove in his first run as a professional via a seventh inning double to do his part in Sioux City 3-1 victory over Lake Country in the American Association. Pérez also drew a walk and now hits .273 on the season.

Cuban-American slugger JC Escarra drove in three runs via two doubles and also scored two to lead Gastonia to a 13-4 thrashing of Charleston in the Atlantic League. The outfielder saw his average jump to .359 and augmented his total of RBIs to 17 on the season.

In the Frontier League Willie Escala went yard for the first time on the season and scored two runs to play a big part in Sussex ‘s 6-1 win over Tri-City. For the second baseman it was his first longball of the season. Escala also stole a base and scored twice on the evening for the Miners.
