Yoanner Negrín is masterful in Yucatán’s victory. (+Mexican League Report)

Yoanner Negrín tossed six innings where he gave up two hits and surrendered an earned in Yucatán’s 5-3 win over Quintana Roo. The hurler also fanned five on the day and saw his ERA fall to 5.28 on the season. During his eight seasons in the Mexican League the righty has won over 60 games.

Yuniesky Larduet is establishing himself as one of the best leadoff hitters in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol. The native of Las Tunas, Cuba had two hits in five at bats, drove in two runs and scored once, but Campeche was beaten 5-4 to México City. The outfielder is hitting .308 and also sports a .348 on base percentage on the season.

Albert Lara’s bat has been scorching the ball over the last two games. The utility man for Unión Laguna has eight hits and four RBIs in his last 10 at-bats. In yesterday’s contest Lara slugged his first homerun and knocked in two runs to be the catalyst of the Algodoneros 5-4 win over Durango. Lara is now hitting a robust .333 on the campaign.
