You are hitting more than 50 points higher this season, did you make any changes or adjustments in your preparation for the season?

The biggest thing is to keep working on hitting and on plate discipline, this will help you find good pitches to hit. That’s the main thing that I’ve focused on the most this year.

You’ve been with Puebla for two years. Are you more comfortable in your second year with the ball club?

Yes, I definitely feel more in the city now and I love it. The fans have been superb in their treatment of my teammates and myself. My manager, coaches and colleagues have also supported me plenty.

The team has not started as expected and although it is early in the season they are out of playoff contention. Do you think they can reverse the situation?

Yes, I think so, that has always been the goal. The goal for us is to win a championship and the turnaround is one game at a time Last year we had a difficult start yet we righted the ship and secured a playoff birth. We learned a lot from that experience, that is why we are confident that this year we can do the same when the time comes.

Cuba will call players not affiliated with the FCB for the Pan American Games. Being of Cuban descent, would you be interested?

It has always been a dream to play for Cuba, especially because of my mother and my uncle. I have a lot of family from there and I have gone many times. I have never had the opportunity to represent Cuba, but if the opportunity presents itself with great honor I would do it.

Where will we see Peter O’Brien this winter?

I don’t know yet. The last 5 years I have played in the Dominican Republic. I know I have opportunities to play here in Mexico as well. When winter comes we will see what happens.

What goals do you have for the season?

Personally, continue to focus on my approach pitch by pitch. I also want do the best I can to help the team and hopefully we can win a championship at seasons end.
