Guillermo Heredia’s two RBI’s key SSG’s win. (+Asian League Report)

Guillermo Heredia continues to be a catalyst for the SSG Landers’ offense. In today’s game the Cuban outfielder set the tone for the Korean squad with a first inning two run single that was the difference in team’s 3-2 victory over the Samsung Lions. Heredia who leads the KBO with a .329 average is also fifth in the league with 31 RBIs.

In the NPB Ariel Martínez collected a hit in three at-bats in Nippon-Ham’s 2-1 win over the Yakult Swallows. The Cuban catcher broke a recent slump and saw his average jump to .239 on the campaign. Martínez on the season is slugging a solid .430 and has also blasted six homeruns on the campaign.

In the CPBL Elían Leyva had his worst outing of the season against the Chinatrust Brothers Elephants. The right-hander was hit hard in four innings giving five earned runs via eight hits to watch his ERA rise to 3.28 on the campaign. Rakuten fell to Brothers 10-9.
