JC Escarra swats his first homerun in Tijuana’s win. (+Mexican League Report)

The recently acquired JC Escarra keeps swinging a hot stick. The Cuban -American slugger laced two hits, one of them being a solo shot in the first inning, his first in the LMB and also scored two times to lead Tijuana to a 9-7 win over Unión Laguna. In his brief time with the team he is hitting .357 batting average.

In a losing cause Albert Lara drove in two runs via a sixth inning double in a losing cause for the Algodoneros. His average fell to to .343 on the season.

Henry Urrutia had his best evening of the season in Saltillo’s 11-3 thrashing of Aguascalientes. The native of Las Tunas, Cuba also knocked in four runs and watched his average jump to a solid .298 on the campaign. Urrutia has now driven in 37 runs on the season.
