J.D. Martínez hits his 300th homer in MLB. (+Cuban MLB Report)

J.D. Martínez went yard twice on the evening, one of his longballs being the 300th of his career. Martínez who also drove in two runs on the day in the Dodgers’ 5-0 blanking of Colorado becomes the 8th player of Cuban descent to reach that plateau.

Adolis García launched his 19th homerun on the season and also knocked in two runs in the Rangers’ 8-3 win over Detroit. The slugger from Ciego de Ávila, Cuba is now second in MLB with 63 runs batted in and also watched his average rise to .258 on the season.

Aroldis Chapman tossed a scoreless inning in KC’s 2-1 loss to Cleveland. The lefty has only allowed a run in his last eight outings and has struck out 51 batters in 28⅓ innings pitched on the campaign. Chapman is the top setup man this year in the opinion of many and could be on his way to another All-Star berth.
