Lázaro Blanco blanked Veracruz for five innings only allowing four hits in León’s 1-0 no-hit loss to Veracruz. The right-hander also fanned two and watched his ERA descend to 4.42 on the season. The Cuban hurler has pitched well of late, but to no avail because his is winless in his last two starts.
JC Escarra collected two hits in five trips to the plate and drove in two runs to lead Laguna in their 14-4 thrashing of Puebla. The native of Miami now hits .295 and has driven in 19 runs on the season.
In defeat Peter O’Brien went yard for the 17th time on the campaign, drove in a run and scored on an occasion. The outfielder is hitting .330 and has knocked in 52 runs in the season. The Cuban-American slugger is having the best year of his career.
