Henry Urrutia goes yard in Saltillo’s win. (+Mexican League Report)

Henry Urrutia connected on key three-run homerun in the eighth inning that gave Saltillo a 9-8 lead that the Saraperos never lost. The team from Coahualia downed the Tijuana 12-9 and Urrutia now has 60 runs batted in on the campaign. The Cuban slugger has now gone downtown 18 times on the season.

Roel Santos was the key figure in the Olmecas 1-0 victory over the Piratas de Campeche. The outfielder from Granma, Cuba had a perfect night collecting three hits in as many at-bats and swatted a key single in the bottom of the seventh to give Tabasco the victory.

In the second game Yoennis Yera was very effective tossing five innings where he gave up two runs via four hits and fanned six in Tabasco’s 2-0 loss to Campeche. The lefty from Matanzas, Cuba saw his ERA jump to 2.98 on the campaign.
