Andy Ibáñez homered twice and knocked in four runs during his four trips to the plate in Detroit’s 8-6 win over the Cubs. The utilityman from the Isle of Youth who saw his average rise to .248 on the campaign is also hitting a solid .302 his last 15 games.
Jorge Soler went yard for the 33rd time on the season, drove in a run and also scored on an occasion to do his part in the Marlins’ 3-0 blanking of the Padres. The Cuban giant has now homered four times in his last seven games.

Yandy Díaz and Randy Arozarena combined for five hits, four runs batted in and four runs to lead the Rays’ 12-4 rout of the Rockies. Diaz and his .328 batting place him first in the American League in this category. While Arozarena is now hitting a robust .345 over his last seven games.
Johan Oviedo tossed five innings of four run, one-hit ball to notch his seventh win of the season. Oviedo also struck out five and Pittsburgh downed St. Louis 6-3. The righty has won four of his last seven starts.
