Dairon Blanco hit his first longball in the majors, knocked in a run and scored of an occasion to do his part in the Royals’ 4-0 blanking of the Athletics. The outfielder is hitting a solid .286 in his last seven games.
Nolan Arenado connected two hits in four trips to the plate and drove in two runs in the Cardinals’ 6-4 win over Pittsburgh. The Cuban-American slugger augmented his number of runs batted in to 87 on the season leaving him fourth in the National League in that category.
Yandy Díaz and Randy Arozarena combined for three hits, a homerun, four RBIs and a run scored to lead Tampa Bay over Colorado 6-5. Diaz and his .329 average are tops in the American League in that statistical category, while Arozarena swatted his 20th roundtripper and is hitting a robust .317 over his last 15 games.
