The colleague Francys Romero announced earlier the morning that left-hander Ariel Miranda has signed to play with the Águilas Cibaeñas of the Dominican Winter League. Miranda who is a pitcher that strikes out a lot of batters will replace Roenis Elías in the rotation, the fellow lefty decided not play winter ball this season.
This summer Miranda pitched with the Saraperos de Saltillo of the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol posting a 4-1 record and 4.56 ERA, while also finishing third in the league with 94 strikeouts. The hurler was also pitcher of the year in the KBO and MVP of the KBO with the Doosan Bears when he set the league record for strikeouts with 225.
In other news big leaguer Daysbel Hernández was also invited to preseason camp by the Cañeros de Los Mochis. The righty made his big league debut this season with Atlanta. With the Braves he had a 1-0 record and 7.36 ERA. Cienfuegos outfielder Dany Oramas was also invited to camp by Los Mochis.
