Cuba announces their roster for the Copa del Caribe with some minor changes.

Cuba re-announced its roster for the 2023 Copa del Caribe which will take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico October 1 to the 7. The team which will be led by Armando Johnson will have two catchers, four outfielders, eight infielders and 10 pitchers.

Inexplicably left off the roster after it was announced he would play with the squad was right-hander Yuniesky Garcia, sources tell our sister page Pelota Cubana that he was a feared defector by the Cuban authorities and therefore not allowed to travel to the tournament

The team will look very similar to that WBC squad that finished fourth in the event this March. The pitching staff will be led by Yoennis Yera, José Ramón Rodríguez and Carlos Juan Viera. The offense will include the bats of Roel Santos, Erisbel Arruebarruena,Yurisbel Gracial and Dayán García.
