Yordan Álvarez went yard twice, one of them being a titanic shot in the eighth off his countrymen Aroldis Chapman and also drove in two runs, but his best efforts could not prevent Houston from leaving home down 0-2 to the Texas Rangers.
For Álvarez it was his 12th postseason homerun, most amongst Cubans all-time. He also now has 34 playoff RBIs, but Houston now heads to Arlington with their work cut out for them and looking to get back into the series.

Cuban-American Nick Castellanos continues to terrorize opposing pitching. Last night the slugger went yard to the opposite field in the second inning, his fifth homer of the playoffs, drove in a run and scored on an occasion to pace the Phillies in their opening game 5-3 win over the Diamondbacks.
Castellanos is now hitting .370 in the postseason. Philadelphia looks to take a commanding 2-0 tonight in Game 2 with Aaron Nola taking the mound against Merrill Kelly. The Phillies and their combined OPS of .909 lead all remaining playoff teams in that statistical category.
