Yasiel Puig made his season debut in the LIDOM by collecting a hit in four trips to the plate and scoring a run to do his part in the Estrellas Orientales 4-2 victory over the Toros del Este on Opening Day. José Barrero added to the victory with a hit in two at-bats and also scored a run.
Cesar Prieto made his winter league debut in the LIDOM with two doubles in five at-bats and scored two runs in the Águilas 7-5 loss to the Gigantes. His teammate and countrymen Yadiel Hernández had a perfect evening swatting three hits in as many trips to the plate and driving in a run for his squad.

Peter O’Brien went yard for the second time on the campaign in Culiacán’s 6-0 shutout of Ciudad Obregón. The Cuban-American slugger homered for the second straight game and is now hitting .211 on the season.
Although he did not factor in the decision Odrisamer Despaigne tossed five scoreless innings for the Yaquis in which he only allowed five hits and struck out three. After a rough first start the right-hander from Havana saw his ERA fall to 8.59 on the young season.
