Adolis García did not play the last two games in Arizona due to an oblique injury that kept him out of the World Series, but he was an offensive pillar in the Rangers’ first crown in MLB history. Let’s remember that it was the Texas’ third appearance in the World Series, in 2010 and 2011 they were not successful in winning. Despite his absence, he fully trusted his teammates:
“It was difficult, but I trust them a lot, this group is incredible, I told the boys that it didn’t matter what would happen, that the most important thing was to win and “That’s what they did, went out and won.” The native of Ciego de Ávila, Cuba led the team in home runs (8) and RBIs (22) during the postseason, setting mark a new record for RBIs in playoffs, surpassing the 21 of David David Freese in 2011.
In the Championship Series against Houston he also set a new record for RBIs for a single series with 15.
During the 15 games he played in the postseason he hit .323, with 11 runs scored and nine extra-base hits ( 1 2B and 8 HR). “I am proud to be able to enter the history books and to give Texas the championship that they had been waiting for so much,” he expressed to MLB Cuba in the midst of the celebrations.

“Thank you to my Cubans for your support, continue supporting us Cubans who are doing our best.” Those eight homers equaled Yuli Gurriel’s total in the postseason and were the second best mark by a Cuban after the 10 that Randy Arozarena hit in 2020. “I am very happy and excited, imagine I can’t believe it, it was a difficult year, a very tough year, but the team was able to do the job and thank God we are champions today,” commented “El Bombi” in an interview with ESPN after the game 5.
“I want to dedicate this victory to my family, I also want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to be here, God put me here today to enjoy what he has given me. To all the fans and the organization who deserve it.” The story of Adolis García is worthy of a movie, in 2021 he was designated for assignment by the Texas Rangers themselves and today he is MVP of the Championship Series, leader in RBIs and home runs in the Postseason and also a World Series Champion.
