Yadir Drake swatted a key sixth inning homerun tying the game between Obregón and Guasave at one, breaking up a masterpiece of a game by Odrisamer Despaigne. The right-hander from Havana finished the evening with a quality start giving up seven hits and two earned runs in seven innings of work, while fanning seven.
The Algodoneros eventually downed the Yaquis 3-2 in 11 innings. For Drake it was his second longball and he now also hits a robust .341 on the campaign. In Despaigne’s case the righty watched his ERA drop to 3.20 on the season.

Although Yasmany Tomás drove in two runs via a seventh inning double the Cañeros de Los Mochis still fell to the Charros de Jalisco 6-3. The reigning league MVP has now driven in 20 runs on the campaign for the defending Liga ARCO Champs.
In the LIDOM Dairon Blanco continues his torrid hitting with the Estrellas Orientales. On the evening the speedy outfielder from Camagüey, Cuba collected two hits in four trips to the plate, knocked in two runs and scored on an occasion to lead the team from San Pedro de Macoris to win over their arch-rival Toros 5-1.
Blanco now hits a solid .290 on the season. His countrymen and teammate Roel Santos also helped the cause with two hits and a run scored to watch his average rise to .269 during his first season in the Dominican circuit.
