Elían Leyva tossed a solid five innings to garner his fifth victory of the year in the Liga ARCO and remain undefeated on the campaign. The right-hander from Mayabeque, Cuba allowed six hits, three earned runs and fanned two in Hermosillo’s 7-3 win over Monterrey. Leyva now sports a solid 3.15 ERA on the season.
Also in México Yasmany Tomás hit his seventh longball of the season, but Los Mochis fell to Jalisco 7-3. The reigning league MVP also has 21 runs batted in on the season. Tomás is also hitting a solid .278 on the season.

In the LIDOM Ruben Cardenas went yard in four trips to the plate and drove in two runs to do his part in the Gigantes 5-2 win over the Toros in the first game of the doubleheader between the two ballclubs. The Cuban-American is hitting .438 in his brief time with the Dominican squad.
In the LBPRC Adeiny Hechavarria swatted two hits in five trips to the plate and knocked in a run in Carolina’s 5-0 blanking of Caguas. The talented infielder saw his average ascend to a solid .278 on the campaign in the Puerto Rican circuit.
