Odrisamer Despaigne tossed seven innings in which he only gave up five hit and no runs, all while retiring five via the strikeout in Ciudad Obregón’s 7-0 shutout of Mazatlán. The right-hander from Havana notched his fourth win and watched his ERA descend to 2.84 on the season.
Also in the Liga ARCO Peter O’Brien collected two hits in four at-bats and knocked in a run Culiacán’s 3-0 blanking of the the Mayos de Navojoa. Although the Cuban-American slugger is only hitting a paltry .213 he has driven in 30 runs on the winter campaign.
Yadiel Hernández swatted two hits in three trips to the plate, drove in a run and also scored a run to do his part in las Águilas Cibaeñas 3-2 win over their arch-rival Tigres del Licey. The outfielder now leads the LIDOM with a .336 average.
In the LBPN Lorenzo Quintana laced three doubles amongst his four hits in six trips the plate. The slugger also drove in the runs to play his part in Chinandega’s 11-9 victory over Bóer. Quintana is second in the LBPN with 23 RBIs.
