When he won his first World Series, Chapman with teammates with his countrymen Jorge Soler with the Chicago Cubs in 2016. What do you think of this team of Cubans going to Colombia?

It is something very nice that is happening. There are many of us players who are outside of Cuba and do not have good representation. This is a good initiative for every player who is here and can be represented by the FEPCUBE.

They say you will be supporting in any way possible.

I told them that I was available, that maybe I couldn’t pitch for various reasons, but that I was willing to participate and support them in other ways possible.

You have had an incredible year, you started with Kansas and then won championship with Texas.

This offseason I did a lot of work and trained hard. Thank God I started with Kansas and then they moved me to Texas. It was a pretty nice experience. It was a fairly young team with some older figures, but it was something special.

Many thought your career was on the decline.

I only focus on working, preparing well and improving every day. As I said in the winter, my thing was to prepare to return as best as possible and the my performance would have the last word.

Once a again you are a free agent, how do you approach it?

My agent will be dedicated to negotiating a contract. I’m just going to focus on preparing and being healthy to get to spring camp as best as possible. What I want is to work, have a job and be able to enjoy the game. I want to be able to pitch in whatever situation that I am needed to.
