Dairon Blanco swatted a hit in four trips to the plate, the base knock came in the fourth inning and was a key two-run triple that aided las Estrellas in their 7-2 win over Licey. The speedy outfielder is now hitting .297 on the campaign. José Barrero also helped the cause with a hit and two runs batted in for the team from San Pedro de Macoris.
In México Yoelquis Guibert hit his fourth longball of the season, drove in a run and scored three times, but his best efforts couldn’t prevent a 9-8 defeat for Guasave at the hands of Jalisco. Guibert is now hitting a solid .267 on the season
In Puerto Rico Pedro Echemendia tossed five innings of seven-hit, two-run ball and retired three via the strikeout, but in spite of his solid outing Ponce still fell to Santurce 2-1. The hurler now sports a nifty 2.50 ERA on the campaign.
