Javier Mirabal shines in the Liga ARCO. (Winter League Report)

Javier Mirabal made his first start of the year in the Liga ARCO last night and was sharp. The Cuban-American right-hander hurled two innings in which he gave up two hits, a run and fanned four. Mirabal exhibited a sharp slider and a 95 Mph fastball during his outing. On the evening Mexicali defeated Guasave 6-5.

Roel Santos collected a hit and scored a run in four trips to the plate and scored a run in the Estrellas Orientales 4-0 blanking of Licey. The outfielder is now hitting .231 heading into the Round Robin of the LIDOM and could be a key player for the team in the second phase of the tournament.

Dayan García hit a home run and drove in three, while Rubi Silva had 3 hits and scored once to lead Chinandega in their 5-3 victory over León. Silva is now hitting .331 and García is third in the LBPNwith 28 RBIs. García, Silva and Lorenzo Quintana figure to be key bats for Chinandega in the Round Robin.
