Ariel Miranda was deactivated from the Tiburones de La Guaira roster due to a severe flu that prevented him from seeing action. The left-hander will be out of action for 10 days. Miranda who is the ace of the staff for the Venezuelan club has a 2-1 record with a 5.22 in five starts since joining the team.
In the case of Yadiel Hernández A wrist injury to could end his participation in the LIDOM Round Robin, pending medical results. The outfielder was the team’s first selection in the re-entry draft after his squad, the Águilas Cibaeñas failed to qualify for the postseason. During the regular phase of the tournament Hernández hit .302 and knocked in 20 runs, while during the postseason he was hitting a robust .348 before his injury.
In other news ex-Dodger prospect Heisell Baro has decided to return to Cuba and play in the Serie Nacional. He will pitch for his native Vegueros de Pinar del Río. In three seasons in the minors with LA he posted a 5-5 record, 3.87 ERA and fanned 130 in 116⅓ innings. The right got as high as A ball before being released in 2022 by ball club from tinsel town.
