Houston Astros slugger Yordan Álvarez seems to be adapting well to his new batting stance and hit a home run in Saturday’s game against the Nationals. Álvarez is showing more distance on his in the homeruns this spring training. During the contest the outfielder had two hits in three at-bats in the Astros’ 9-4 victory over the Washington Nationals.
“I felt very good,” Alvarez told MLB Network. “I’m still trying to make a couple adjustments at the plate, but I feel pretty good.” Regarding how he feels being placed second in the batting order, between José Altuve and Alex Bregman. “The most important thing for me is to continue with that pace and focus on the little details that we are always trying to focus on and improve,” Said Álvarez about his goals for the campaign.

For his part, the manager Joe Espada, referred to Yordan’s availability to play in Houston’s left field. “I like him playing that position. I understand that maybe he’s not a player that’s going to be there every day, simply because I haven’t done it in the past. “But I would like him to be out there everyday,” he explained. “He’s in a very good situation,” Espada said.
“We’ve never played him so much so early in camp. But he worked very hard this offseason and wanted to be here early in spring training, taking reps, at-bats, playing in the outfield. So now he’s healthy.” Álvarez has said he is preparing for the season by building on the routines he began last offseason when he worked with the Astros coaches in Houston in an effort to maintain a rhythm heading into the season.
