Tristón Casas hit his first longball of the spring, knocked in a run and scored twice to lead the Red Sox offense on the day. The Cuban -American first baseman also drove in his first run of camp in yesterday’s contest.
David Villar went yard for the second time on the spring and drove in two runs, but the Giants fell to the Reds 19-11. Jorge Soler also added to the cause with a hit and an RBI in three trips to the plate. The slugger watched his average fall to .350 this preseason.
