Yariel Rodríguez shines in his second outing. (+Spring Training Report)

Yariel Rodríguez was barely hittable in his second outing of the spring. The right-hander from Camagüey, Cuba tossed three innings of no-run, one-hit ball in the Bluejays 3-2 loss to the Orioles split squad. The hurler also struck out one to watch his ERA descend to a solid 1.80 on the preseason and has an outside shot of being on the team’s Opening Day Roster.

Randy Arozarena went yard for the fourth time on the spring, drove in a run and scored on an occasion, but the Rays fell to Baltimore 6-4. The diminutive but powerful outfielder knocked in six runs on the preseason in spite of hitting a miniscule .171.

Andy Ibáñez deposited a ball in the stands for the fifth time on the spring to lead all Cubans and drove in four runs to be the protagonist in Detroit’s 10-7 win over the Yankees. The infielder also scored twice and has also driven 11 runs on the preseason.
