Adolis García hit his 100th career longball in Texas’ rout of Tampa Bay. (+MLB Report)

Adolis García went yard for the third time on the campaign, a two-run shot in the eighth inning to put the stamp on Texas’ 9-3 victory over Tampa Bay. Although “El Bombi” is hitting a paltry .235 he has driven in six runs on the young season. For García it was his 100th longball on the grand stage making him the 23rd Cuban to reach that feat in MLB history.

Aroldis Chapman notched his first save of the season and the 322nd of his career after tossing a third of an inning in Pittsburgh’s 8-4 win over the Nationals. The flamethrowing righty has struck three in 2⅓ innings pitched and opponents have yet to get a hit off the hurler in the early season.

Nolan Arenado collected two hits in five trips to the plate, drove in a run and scored another run to do his part in the Cardinals’ 6-2 triumph versus San Diego. The Cuban-American third baseman is looking to break out after a slow start that has seen him hitting .148 to open the campaign.
