Their were rumors circulating that Yasiel Puig and the Cuban Baseball Federation had been in conversations to have the outfielder join team Cuba in the Premier 12, those rumors are totally false. A source of ours very close to the situation confirmed to the Cuban Baseball Digest as of now their has been no contact between Puig and the FCB.
“The Wild Horse,” as the Cienfuegos native is known, won a title this winter in Venezuela with the Tiburones de La Guaira and also helped the team to a Caribbean Series title. During the five games of the Venezuelan League final against Lara he was unconscious collecting eight hits in 19 at-bats. Of those eight hits, three of which were for doubles, one of which was a homer and he also plated six runs.
Sources very close to the situation tell me that Yasiel Puig has not been contacted by @CubanaBeisbol to play for Cuba in the @Premier12. The report of contact between the outfielder and the federation is false for now.
