Adolis García homered for the fifth time on the campaign and knocked in a run and also scored on an occasion to do his part in Texas’ 9-7 victory over Detroit. The outfielder from Ciego de Ávila, Cuba has driven in 18 runs on the campaign.

García who is hitting .311 on the season now has 102 longballs in his career and figures to be a key figure in the team from the Lone Star state’s title defense this season.

For the Tigers Alex Faedo continues to shine in relief. The Cuban-American right-hander tossed two scoreless innings in relief and fanned a batter for the felines, the hurler now sports a miniscule 1.42 earned run average on the season.
