Henry Urrutia had his most productive evening of the young season driving in three runs via three hits and scoring twice to pace Saltillo’s 15-3 drubbing of the Sultanes de Monterrey. The talented slugger who eclipsed 600 hits on the season is now hitting a robust .370 on the campaign.
Yoanner Negrín notched his second victory of the season after hurling six scoreless innings in Yucatán’s 5-0 blanking of Campeche. The right-hander now has 77 wins during his time in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol. Yadir Drake helped the cause with two runs batted on the night and watched his average rise .355 on the season.

Alejandro Rivero swatted four hits in six trips to the plate, drove in a run and scored twice in Chihuahua’s 9-5 win over Durango. The infielder is hitting .500 and has now knocked two in on the young season. Rivero has been a big pick up for the Mexican squad this offseason.
Yoennis Yera tossed six innings of scoreless ball, but did not factor in the decision in Tabasco’s 3-2 loss to Puebla. The left-hander from Matanzas, Cuba has only allowed a run in 11 ⅓ innings of work this season and sports a 0.79 ERA. Yera has been a staple in the Olmecas” pitching staff the last three years.
