Adolis García blasted his sixth homerun of the campaign and knocked in two to lead the Rangers to a 6-4 victory over the Braves. García has driven in 22 runs leaving him first among Cubans and the American League leader in the category.
Andy Pagés connected on his first dinger in the majors, a fifth inning three-run shot off Grant Hartwig to pace the Dodgers in their 10-0 blanking of the Mets. The outfielder also scored twice on the day and watched his average rise to .222 on the season.
Aroldis Chapman retired three of the four batters he faced via the strikeout in a scoreless inning of work in relief during Pittsburgh’s 6-1 loss to the Red Sox. The flamethrowing lefty has now fanned 14 batters in 6 ⅔ innings of this campaign and sports a 4.05 earned run average.
