Yordan Álvarez went yard twice and drove in three runs to lead Houston 12-4 rout of the Rockies. The slugger from Las Tunas, Cuba now has seven longballs on the season placing him third in the American League in that category. José Abreu also got in on the act with two hits and two RBIs to helped the cause.

Nolan Arenado swatted a hit in four trips to the dish, knocked in a run and also scored on two occasions to do his part in St. Louis’ 7-4 win over the Mets. Arenado has now driven in 13 runs and hits .284 on the campaign.

Alex Faedo notched his second victory of the season after tossing two scoreless innings in relief in Detroit’s 6-5 victory over Kansas City. The Cuban- American righty saw his ERA descend to 2.55 on the season and has been one of the Tigers’ most effective relievers so far this year.

Carlos Rodón pitched six strong innings in which he gave up two hits and an earned, while retiring eight via the strikeout to secure his second win on the young season. The Yankees thrashed Milwaukee 15-3 and Rodón now sports a 2.48 earned run average.
