Jorge Soler has had a slow start to the season with the San Francisco Giants. The outfielder has not been able to maintain a good rhythm on offense, so his contribution to the team has been quite erratic. Soler has hit five home runs, leading the Giants, however, the slugger however has barely driven in any runs, eight to be exact. He is also one of the most unproductive hitters in the entire league in terms of opportunities to produce with runners in scoring position.
“It has been a very difficult start to the season. “I haven’t been able to find my rhythm, but things like extra reps will help me get my rhythm,” Soler said. “I’ve been working in the cage and taking extra batting practice so I can start contributing,” Soler told NBC Sports. “To be honest, I don’t know how to explain it,” said the Cuban.

“I know I find myself in situations with runners on base, but I haven’t been able to convert.” While the press and fans have criticized his performance with the team, Soler said he doesn’t really pay attention to what the fans say, “I don’t read anything in the media, but I know for a fact that I’m not doing my job,” he said.
When Soler signed with San Francisco, the team hoped he would provide some of the power the lineup had been missing. The Giants needed to incorporate a power hitter who would hit home runs and drive in runs, and who better than the Cuban, one of the best home run hitters in the MLB.
Soler has already shown what he is capable of doing when he is in sync, when hitting on all cylinders he can carry a team on his back. Last season he hit 36 home runs with the Marlins and also led the club in slugging, extra-base hits, walks and runs scored. His bat was a key part of the fish playoff run in 2023.
