Although Christian Rodríguez did not collect a hit on the day he still managed to drive in two runs for the Chunichi Dragons via a sacrifice fly and a ground out in their 5-1 victory over Kufu Hayate in a minor league game.
The infielder saw his average descend to .250 on the season but upped his RBI total to seven. Rodríguez who started this season with the top team, could earn a callup once again before seasons end.
Guillermo Heredia swatted two hits in four trips to the plate and scored a run, but SSG fell to Hanwha 8-2. The outfielder from Matanzas, Cuba is now hitting a robust .388 and is slashing .425/.527/.952 on the season. The re-signing of Heredia has been key to the Landers’ offense this campaign.
