Elías strikes out seven, but takes the loss in SSG’s defeat. (+Asian League Report)

Roenis Elías tossed four innings in which he struck out seven batters, but didn’t have his best stuff, yielding an uncharacteristic four walks. The left-hander during his out also gave up five hits and three earned runs in SSG’s 8-6 loss to NG. The hurler saw his ERA rise to 4.89 on the season.

Guillermo Heredia tried to helped the cause with three hits in four at-bats, one of them being a homerun and drove in three runs. The outfielder is first in the circuit in hitting with a batting average of .416 and seventh in the KBO in RBI’s with 25.
Liván Moinelo left without a decision after allowing four runs (one earned) and 8 hits in 7 innings of work during the SoftBank Hawks 5-4 loss to the Seibu Lions in extra-innings. The left-hander from Pinar del Río, Cuba has worked at least seven innings in four of the six starts he has made this season.

His record on the season stands at 1-1 and and his ERA dropped to a miniscule 1.58, a figure that places him among the top 10 in the Pacific League in that statistical category. It is definitely now safe to say that the hurler has made a successful conversation from reliever to starter.
