Raidel Martínez recorded his ninth save of the year after striking out the only batter he faced in a third of an inning in relief during the Chunichi Dragons 6-3 win over the Yakult Swallows at Meiji Jingu Stadium in Tokyo. Martínez has yet to allow an earned run in 13 innings of work on the campaign.
Ariel Martínez swatted a single in four plate appearances to keep his average at .240 in Nippon Ham’s 6-3 victory over Orix at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka. The 2023 All-Star has been swinging a hot stick lately for the Fighters after a slow start.
Río Gómez also tossed a third of an inning in relief in Wei-Chaun’s 7-0 shutout of TSG. The left-hander from Miami saw his earned run average descend to 1.93 on the season. Gómez is second in the CPBL with six holds.
