Bryan Ramos drove in his first run as a major leaguer via a sacrifice fly and swatted a hit, also the first of his career in three at-bats, while also scoring a run to do his part in Chicago’s 5-1 victory versus St. Louis. The infielder from Havana is hitting .333 after two games on the grand stage.

Although he didn’t factor in the decision Néstor Cortés had his second quality start in three games after hurling 6⅓ innings where he allowed two runs via three hits and struck out nine. The Yankees dropped the Tigers 5-2 and he has now struck out 18 batters over his last three starts.

Aroldis Chapman tossed a scoreless inning in relief to notch his seventh hold of the season in Pittsburgh’s 5-3 win over Colorado. The Cuban left-hander also fanned two batters and his ERA fell to 4.91 on the campaign.
