Raidel Martínez recorded his 15th save of the year after striking out one of the three batters he faced in an inning of relief in the Chunichi Dragons’ 3-0 victory over the Seibu Lions at the Vantelin Dome in Nagoya.
The right-hander from Pinar del Río, who remains co-leader in saves in the Central League, reduced his effectiveness to 0.78. His countrymen and teammate Dayán Viciedo only saw action on defense, so his average remains at .240. Viciedo is also slashing .269/.280/.549 and has driven in one run on the season.
Although the SSG Landers fell to the LG Twins, Guillermo Heredia collected two hits in four trips to the plate and knocked in a run. The outfielder is now second in the circuit with a .383 batting average.
