Andy Martín went 2-for-4 with Ibaraki in an exhibition game against the third team of the Yomiuri Giants,a 10-0 loss by the Astro Planets. In five contests on the season the toolsy outfielder is hitting .278 with two longballs, four runs batted in and is slashing .300/.611/.911.
With his performance last night Martín caught the eye plenty of NPB teams and with plenty of scouts in attendance expect the highly touted prospect, who is represented by Gladys Alonso to sign with an NPB team in the future.
Christian Rodríguez swatted two hits in three trips to the plate in a minor league game for Chunichi and also drove in a run, but the Dragons fell to SoftBank 5-3. The highly touted prospect is hitting .280 and has now driven 12 runs for the Nippon squad’s second team on the season.
