Nolan Arenado swatted his sixth longball of the season, drove in a run and scored on an occasion to do his part in the Cardinals’ 4-2 win over the Astros. The third baseman has now knocked in 28 runs on the campaign and has homered three times in his last seven games.
Though Andy Pagés left the yard for the sixth time on the season, the Dodgers fell to the Pirates 10-6. The rookie outfielder is hitting a robust .500 over the last seventh games. The native of Pinar del Río, Cuba is starting to make himself a prime candidate for the Rookie of the Year in the National League.
Carlos Rodón tossed six innings of three-hit,two-run ball to win his eighth game of the season. The Yankees defeated the Twins 9-5 and the left-hander fanned nine, while also watching his ERA descend to 3.08 on the season.
