Raisel Iglesias tossed a scoreless ninth to notch his 16th save of the year during Atlanta’s 5-2 win over the Nationals. The right-hander from the Isle of Youth sports a 2.31 ERA and is fourth in MLB in this statistical category.

Iglesias who now has 206 saves is second amongst Cubans in this started category and has rescued six of his last seven outings. The hurler is definitely staking his claim for an All-Star berth. Since 2021 Iglesias has saved a whopping 99 games.

Adrián Morejón threw an inning in relief in which he gave up a hit and no runs, while also fanning a batter in San Diego’s 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks. The left-hander saw his ERA dropped to a impressive 2.13 on the campaign.
