Carlos Rodón threw seven innings of five-hit, one-run ball to win his ninth games of the season. The Yankees downed the Royals 4-2 and the lefty’s earned run average fell to 2.93. Rodón has won seven straight games and has a 0.85 WHIP over that span.

Luis Robert homered for the fifth time on the season, drove in two runs and scored on an occasion during the White Sox’s 8-4 loss to the Mariners. The outfielder broke a skid that saw him hitting .179 over the last seven games.

Yennier Cano tossed a scoreless inning to notch his 16th hold of the season in Baltimore’s 5-2 win over Tampa Bay. The right-hander from Ciego de Ávila, Cuba also fanned two and walked a batter while watching his ERA descend to 2.40 on the campaign.
